Paying respects to Brixton’s Soundsystem cultural heritage and rebuilding the bridges between Jungle and it’s rooting in Reggae music as a format – driving the drum-clattering, adrenaline-fuelled charge into the future of the sound. This all-vinyl shelldown of ruffness, features a heavy line-up of some serious OG playas digging deep, whilst also bringing through some of the scene’s finest, crate-hunting talent. This one’s for the collectors! Expect a deep journey through Roots, Jungle, Breaks and Hardcore. Kicking things off, with the first in the series, we have:

[DJ RON]

East London’s original Jungle/Drum’n’Bass Don, running things since the genre’s conception in the early 90s. Kool FM, Weekend Rush FM, Centreforce, Telepathy, Jungle Fever, the first DJ to run a Jungle show on BBC Radio 1?… Ringing any bells? The London Some ‘Ting Records bossman also being heavily involved in some of the sound’s earliest documentation, bringing an unrivalled curatorial approach to the scene. Diving into the record archives for ‘BAGGA BADNIS’ to bring you a rare peak at the treasure.

[CHINESE DAUGHTER]

South London in the building! Chinese Daughter keeps on rising through the ranks at the moment and if you haven’t seen the name on a flyer around the city… where you been? Vinyl-only DJ and associate of the Swamp81 gang. Coming back off a recent tour of Aus/NZ to bless these South London streets once more with her tuff selections of old-school Jungle, and future hardcore and everything in between.

[T-CUTS]

Mined Records sensei and vinyl fanatic since 1993. Driving forward that authentic Jungle and Hardcore sound and continuously rattling out ribcage killa productions on wax spanning all genres. A true general with a weighty collection of plastic to bless ya eardrums!

[HIGHLANDER]

Racked Records founder & DJ. A multi-genre, versatile DJ with an extra special love for the high tempo, high adrenaline rave on the Jungle spectrum. Long serving resident on Subtle Radio and NRG CRU regular. Features on Aaja, Kool FM, Killahertz among many others.

[JOE JOINER]

Hailing from East London. A record collector and DJ of 18 years championing that raw London Junglis’ sound and it’s roots. Since his early years Joe was building sound systems from old boy racer speakers and hosting regular off-grid socials – he built a strong foundation which propelled him to shape the sound he still represents today. Monthly resident on Subtle Radio, as well as shows aired on Rinse FM, Kool FM, Aaja Music & Voices.

[PAPA FACE] – DJ & Host

Brixton born & raised reggae icon status – master DJ selecta and microphone toaster! Face ran his own Brixton based sound system Mafia Black who played with and against all the top South London sounds in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He went on to establish a successful career as an artist with hits on Dub Vendor’s affiliated label Fashion Records. Good friend and collaborator of David Rodigan, both still performing together. Can’t wait to hear what Papa Face brings through for us.
